Romantic notions

A nice quote from Dorothy Sayers’ Gaudy Night, the book I am reading right now.

Harriet marvelled, not for the first time, at the untiring conscientiousness of administrative women. Nobody’s interests ever seemed to be overlooked or forgotten, and an endless goodwill made up for perennial scarcity of funds.

For whatever reason, I keep imagining the story to take place at Bryn Mawr. I wonder if our resident Mawrters would agree with this quote?

Oh I love Dorothy Sayers. I read all of her books in college. Love that Peter Wimsey. And his butler.

If I only had one sentence to describe any random collection of Bryn Mawrters, it would not include the phrase “endless goodwill.”
